CADRE profiler - section property analysis
This application is used to design section profiles and determine their geometric properties for custom beam cross sections which can be composed of different materials.
System requirements
Windows 7 and Vista (32 & 64 bit), XP, 2000 with Microsoft .Net 2.0 framework
Why you need it?
To check critical values from tables and software before using them.
We have found that the manufacturer's and association's specifications for section properties sometimes have errors, some as large as 40% in the unsafe direction. While CADRE Analytic has checked those provided with our structural software applications, some software companies just copy the tables into their structural software programs without validating them. Section properties, at least for the more critical sections, should always be checked by hand or other independent means. CADRE Profiler is the only section property application available that provides two independent means of validating section properties.

To derive section properties for custom design and composite sections. The use of custom extrusions is becoming almost as economical as using off-the-shelf items but you will need to calculate the properties yourself. Some CAD programs can do a reasonable job on basic area
and inertia but are not very complete with cross products,
principal axes, and extreme value distances along principal
axes. |
